AMOREPACIFIC DAEJEON OFFICE

The AmorePacific Daejeon Office is the second office built outside of Seoul (the first office being located in Gwangu). The new office corresponds to the company's corporate image of transparency and "cleanliness". These out-of-Seoul offices have become prototypes, with similar long cores and condensed functions, construction of the interior programs, the protruding masses in the lower parts of the structures, and finishing materials for the interiors and exteriors.

For the Daejeon Office, ideal placement was achieved after much analyzing of the soil conditions and the nearby surroundings, including the roads and the buildings. The design has evolved from the prototype, reflecting the designers' intentions.
The Gwangju Office has achieved a unique look by way of contrast with its surrounding buildings. The Daejeon Office, with three of its sides at a street corner, and thus surrounded by three roads (two of the three in particular are easily recognizable, with their images given by bright and clean materials) is quite salient. Each side of the building is slightly different from the others in terms of "proportions" of material usage and construction methods, but the corners where the sides meet are done with the similar materials to maintain cohesion. The program consists of a basement parking and facility space, the entrance lobby, education facilities and halls in the lower floors, and spaces for operations on the upper floors.

The protruding lower parts of each of the office buildings are designed with different materials. For instance, titanium plates were used externally to reflect light and give off an easy look. For the upper floors, where things may feel monotonous, the air vents of the air conditioners, lamp fixtures, and fire extinguishers were systematized in a "Slim-line" format. And these were placed within a module to support the fiber boards rather than the light-weight steel frames.
