This project was designed after Adi Purnomo released his book Relativitas, which discussed the attitude of placing actual and rational reasons at the base of his design decisions. It was a time when rationality re-questioned whether the exploring of creativity could become a tool, or whether it created limitations in the attempt to find another new possibilities. The project is a mix building between residential, working, and art gallery space that is at times opened to public. Because the client is a photographer and an art collector, light is an important element to the project. What possibilities are open when we are thinking about light in this context? What if we let the light become the material that creates the space? What if we eliminate the 'result' or 'goal',or "any imagination about form and space" from the beginning? So therefore studied about the characteristics of light during a whole year and found some angles that relate to time. We studied how the light could penetrate the volume, by use of some models. To sum it up in one sentence, we could say: We?e let all the observed phenomena (in this case, sunlight), become the tool of the design.
