Trafacon Office Project

The Trafacon office building is situated on the city's green area site at Jl. Durian, Jagakarsa, south of Jakarta. The main function of the building is a headquarters office for Trafacon, a construction company founded in Jakarta in 2001. It embodies a number of main programmatic elements, including the main office, an advertising office, a photography studio, and their supporting facilities. The main concept is to create a seamless blending between the building and its surroundings. The grass covers the building surface from the ground up to the rooftop. The designers used "paper-folding" techniques in creating the spaces. The initial intention, however, was to recreate the landscape in way that it would become an integrated built landscape and water-management system, while creating office spaces functional purposes. The project combines landscape architecture and "paper-folding" architecture into one integrated built environment.

The iconic architectural presentation aims to build and advertise the company brand within the society as building contractor. Its architectural form compared to the local surroundings is stunning, yet subtle. By designing a large, multi-layered landscape feature that can be used as well for social interaction spaces, we aim at creating alternative outdoor interaction places, beside the common indoor rooms, pantry, etc. The "green-interaction place" is calming and uplifting, contributing to the psychological wellbeing of the users, which in turn also impacts on their health and working performance.
