The exhibition ¡®Architect¡¯s Graphics¡¯ was on show from Apr. 18 to May 11 at the Good Ol¡¯ Days Busan Hotel & Café. The exhibition was the first showcase of a group of young Busan-based architects, called BAM (Busan Architects Movement). Through this opportunity, BAM aimed to create a forum for the exchange of ideas between various local architects and to contribute and enrich the cultural infrastructure of local society. One of the most interesting aspects of this exhibition was that every architect has the potential to be a graphic designer. During the design process, architects use different graphic tools to visualise the spatial image of their buildings. Unfortunately, most of these valuable materials are solely used for client presentations or partially included in their portfolios, but they are rarely available to the public. In that context, this exhibition was unique. Young architects presented their artworks created from design materials which had already had another purpose. Graphic posters, containing various graphic elements from the entire design process including competition panels, client presentations, and even sketches, are windows into understanding their intentions. Eventually, by adding new layers, these design materials transcend their original purpose and became individual art pieces. Various young architects including JOA ARCHITECTS, DLS ARCHITECTS, moc architects, YIAN ARCHITECTS, ADI architecture group, cmm architects, Architecture Label 1458, PLS Architects, architect-K, OFFICE ARCHITEKTON, ZITTA ARCHITECTS participated independently in the planning, production, and installation of the exhibition.
